THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WE WOULD CHANGE ABOUT OUR WEDDING CEREMONY WE LOOK BACK ON OUR WEDDING DAY WITH ABSOLUTE DELIGHT AND WE RECOMMEND MARILYN WHOLEHEARTEDLY TO EVERYONE. My brother, who isn't one for compliments, said me to after the ceremony.. "THAT IS THE BLUEPRINT OF HOW ALL WEDDING CEREMONIES SHOULD BE." To be honest we thought we wouldn't find the right celebrant to marry us in the way we wanted, so we had strongly considered not having one. We thought we would do all the legals at a registration office a month before and then have my brother on the day to act in for us…..that was until we found Marilyn. We had an initial Skype call with her to suss her out and she was just what we were after. She listened to what we wanted, offered just enough advice to guide us along and she thought of all the things we hadn't thought of. HER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE SHONE THROUGH FROM THE BEGINNING. We didn't want the same old stale ceremony, and it was clear she wasn't the same old stale celebrant. She has a magic folder of readings and example vows, great suggestions on the timing of the ceremony and a warmth that made planning the ceremony a breeze. We then arranged to meet her. We got to practice the ceremony and be clear on where and how to stand (awesome help when you are a little nervous and blissed out on your day). We loved her uniqueness, her professionalism and organisation and her attention to detail. WE ALSO LOVED HER TECHNIQUES ON HOW TO STAY COOL WHEN SPEAKING TO AN AUDIENCE, WHILE BEING TOTALLY PRESENT WITH THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE YOU ARE ABOUT TO MARRY. Much love to you and Marcel! xoxo

Marilyn was fantastic right from the beginning and we could not have chosen anyone better to be our celebrant. Marilyn drafted a medieval wedding ceremony for us less than a few days after we chose her and was patient with us as we sent drafts back and forth. The result was a collaborative and mind-blowing piece of work that was uniquely us and kept our wedding guests thoroughly engaged. Living in Townsville, we were worried about arranging a wedding in Brisbane. We should not have been worried though. Marilyn initially arranged a Skype call with us so we could meet virtually to discuss the wedding and as the wedding got closer, arranged for us to meet with her at her home when we were visiting Brisbane before the wedding. She also kept in regular email contact through each step of the planning process. All these things truly made it feel that the distance did not matter and it was an amazing feeling knowing that our celebrant was interested and excited for our wedding day as much as we were. Marilyn goes the extra mile. As we were worried about organising someone to play music for the ceremony, she suggested that her husband Marcel could play our play list for us (at a small cost). This turned out to be so easy- we just had to send a list of songs we wanted, and he did the rest. One less thing to worry about, which was greatly appreciated when we were already stressed. She also had recommendations on handfasting cords, how to create our love story, and ways to make the ceremony uniquely us. Marilyn also kindly reminded us to pay the final amount owing that we had somehow overlooked- another thing to keep us on track when we had so much else on. Marilyn further organised our marriage certificate and explained where to start with the name changing process. Her professionalism shone through in these respects. You would think that a celebrant’s work finishes after the wedding- but she has emailed us since to check in to see how we enjoyed our honeymoon. Another example of her going above and beyond. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Marilyn and we are so incredibly thankful for her support, patience, professionalism and interest in us, our wedding and our marriage. Marry Me Marilyn was amazing both as a Wedding Celebrant and tour guide through all of the legalities of tying the knot! Our plans were significantly altered by COVID for our ceremony by going from relatively large to just 6 people. Marilyn had fantastic ideas for the larger event which unfortunately couldn't be realised, but she adapted and made the more intimate event as special as it could be. We are from Adelaide and decided to get married in the most beautiful part of Australia......The Gold Coast! Planning just about every part of our wedding was done via the internet & email. I searched the internet for a celebrant, I made a few enquiries and found them to be either too pushy or too boring and not quite what we were looking for. Then I came across Marilyn's website, it was full of so many happy couples who all spoke about how Marilyn helped them create the perfect ceremony. Wow, I can't believe it has been two weeks since our wedding and I am writing this letter, so you may know Chris and I think you are the Best Wedding Celebrant in the World! – I think the wedding ceremony, is one of the most important parts of a wedding, where the love, for a bride and groom is declared between themselves, family and friends. I wanted a ceremony, something that was personalised and a ceremony that would captivate our family and friends, not have “just another boring ceremony”. I found the best wedding celebrant in the world – Marilyn – on the internet, and after viewing her website, made phone contact, found her to be helpful, informative and friendly! The next step was meeting up in person and the best I can describe, meeting Marilyn is like meeting a friend, she has genuine warmth and instantly makes you feel at ease – after a cup of coffee, laughter – we got down to the business side of things, where she explains clearly, the different types of ceremonies, giving you as much input as you wish to make, or if you are a busy person – how little. Our ceremony was personally tailored for us, on what we wanted ( Marilyn is a listener and gives great advice and has available amazing resources) – the planning of the ceremony consisted of sending emails to and fro with drafts, (since I wanted a LOT of input, there were lots of emails – no added expense) until we had it just perfect! Marilyn makes you feel special, as if your wedding is the only wedding she is planning – in fact her attention to detail, would be, as if it was her own wedding. The day itself was beautiful and Marilyn looked beautiful (she consults in colours and what we would like her to wear – she has an extensive wardrobe) as you can imagine, a celebrant is featured in wedding photos! Our true love story and weaving of other magical ceremonies within, had our guests in tears and truly mesmerized from beginning to end. Marilyn herself delivered the ceremony with meaning – each word she spoke was hung on to by the guests…as she put in 110% effort into creating a feeling of love and wonderment. If there is a bride to be reading this now, stop thinking, pick up the telephone, it is the best decision you will ever make! And your wedding will be – as you wish it to be…….and hassle free. "Sarah and I organized our wedding in almost one month , as I was coming from abroad we had to make a lot of decisions in a little time. While we were surfing the net we bumped into the Marry Me Marilyn web site. Hi Marilyn, Well the dust has finally started to settle and I am only now starting to come back to Earth and reflect on our special day. Wow!!!! What a blur!!!! But such a happy blur! Seems like we can't put 6 stars, I would if I could. Marilyn has made the wedding experience a breeze. You really want her as a celebrant and I'm not paid to say so. From the planning phase where she gives you countless tips on things outside the scope of her business just because she actually cares, to the coaching throughout the day itself. Seriously, we were quite stressed (as you can imagine), and as soon as she arrived, stressed oozed out of us. Everything was smooth and orchestrated, she's funny, friendly, outgoing, everyone raved about how great the wedding was compared to what you could be used to. She was accommodating too, we married in the bush quite far from her place and she made it happen in the best possible way. We also have very different cultures and she dived in to understand and merge it in a clever way. It was a big memorable day and there's no way she's not responsible for it, Thank you for being our marriage celebrant to make special day. Marilyn, you are such a beautiful caring person and great to had you on our wedding. You were perfect and made that day such a special and memorable moment of our life. Thank you !
